Quick answer: A good quote should tell you what's being done, who's doing it, and what's included (medication, aftercare, hotel, transfers and follow-up). It should also tell you what isn't included and how payment works. Just to let you know, the headline price on its own won't tell you much. Every price is personal, and it includes your hotel, airport and clinic transfers, and aftercare.

The package price on its own doesn't tell you enough to choose a clinic. Two quotes can look almost the same but include very different things. What really matters is understanding exactly what you're being offered, and whether it's right for you.

It's also important to know that a quote should come after a proper chat about whether you're suitable, not instead of one.

Start with the clinical scope

Ask what procedure they're suggesting, why, and which parts are covered. The quote should say who is responsible for your consultation, your treatment plan and the procedure itself. It should also be clear whether a clinician has actually looked at your case, or whether the price is just a rough estimate.

Compare these items line by line

If a clinic can't give you this much detail, it's really hard to compare them fairly with anyone else.

Be cautious with urgency-led prices

Discounts that end soon, countdown timers and pressure to book the same day are never a good reason to choose a clinic. UK advertising rules actually say cosmetic procedures shouldn't be marketed with this kind of pressure.

A lower price might just mean less is included, or something hasn't been explained to you yet. It doesn't mean better value or a better result.

Ask what is not included

An honest quote tells you what isn't included just as clearly as what is. It's worth asking about extra nights, extra medication, optional treatments, travel changes, follow-up and what happens if your treatment plan changes. Just to let you know, "all inclusive" can mean very different things from one clinic to the next.

Use a written proposal to decide slowly

Ask for a written quote that lists everything, once you understand enough to make sense of it. Then take your time and compare it with the answers you've been given, not just with an offer you've seen on social media.

Why headline prices mislead

Hair transplant packages are often advertised as if everyone needs the same thing, but every case is different. The price at the top of a website only means something once you know what's behind it.

A good quote gives you enough detail to compare two clinics without guessing. It should come after someone has talked to you about your case, not before anyone has even looked at your donor hair or what you're hoping for.

What the clinical section should say

The quote should tell you which procedure they're suggesting and who's responsible for it. It should be clear whether the price is a rough estimate or a confirmed plan. It should also show what's included on the day, any medication or supplies you'll get, and your aftercare.

If a quote doesn't tell you who's doing what, ask for it before you go any further. You can't really judge the price without knowing that.

Travel and accommodation

Some clinics include airport transfers, a hotel and a package for someone travelling with you, and some don't. Neither is better as such, as long as the quote makes it clear.

It's worth asking how many nights are included, whether transfers cover all your clinic visits, and whether flights are included. Also check what happens if your dates move, your flight changes or the clinic suggests a different plan. These things are easy to miss when a package says all inclusive.

Deposits and cancellation terms

Please read the payment terms before you pay anything. Ask when the rest is due, whether the deposit is refundable, what happens if you need to change your date, and what happens if the clinic decides treatment isn't right for you. For something this important, you want the answers in writing, not buried in a chat.

A good comparison method

I'd suggest putting every quote into the same format:

• Clinical assessment and procedure
• Whether a doctor or a technician does each part
• Medication and aftercare
• Accommodation and transfers
• Follow-up after return to the UK
• Deposit and final payment
• Exclusions and possible additional costs
• Cancellation and rescheduling terms

Once it's all on one page, the differences are much easier to see. One clinic might include extra nights and aftercare, while another is cheaper but leaves out important things. Then you can decide what matters to you.

Do not buy speed

Same-day prices, countdown timers and "last spaces" are there to rush you. Please don't choose a hair transplant because of a deadline. Take the quote away, read it properly and compare it with the answers you've been given.
